Terms of Service
Buildable turns ideas into digital prototypes made of real parts. They are designed and checked by software, not tested in the physical world. Before you build, sell or rely on one, you are responsible for checking it.
Using Buildable
By using Buildable you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy and Community guidelines. You must be at least 13 years old (16 in the European Economic Area or the UK, unless a parent or guardian agrees). If you use Buildable for an organization, you confirm you may accept these terms for it.
Buildable is a free beta. It runs on our server and uses an AI model service under our account. Each visitor gets a limited number of new designs and changes per day, shown on the site; the limit may change. Beta features, including ordering and try-on, may change or stop without notice, and during the beta we may clear old unpublished projects after saying so on the site. Do not rely on Buildable to store the only copy of anything important: download your files.
Digital prototypes, not certified products
Designs, part choices, wiring, firmware, simulations and manufacturing files are produced by software, including AI models, and may be wrong. Buildable labels what was computed, what is estimated and what is still a concept, but no label is a guarantee. In particular:
- Check before you build. Verify dimensions, fit, materials, wiring, power, heat and firmware with a qualified person before making or using anything.
- Safety and compliance are yours. Electrical safety, batteries, mains power, radio rules and product certifications (for example FCC, CE or UL) are your responsibility if you build, sell or give away a product.
- Not for high-risk uses. Do not rely on Buildable for medical devices, vehicles, aircraft, life-safety or other uses where failure could cause injury, death or major damage.
Your designs
As between you and us, you own the ideas you enter and the designs made for you, to the extent the law allows. You give us permission to store, process and display them only as needed to run Buildable for you. You confirm that what you enter does not infringe anyone else's rights.
Publishing and remixing
Publishing is your choice. When you publish a design, you give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free permission to show it in the community gallery and on its page for as long as it is published. You also allow other people to view it, open its 3D model and use it as the starting point for their own designs. Unpublishing ends new uses from that point; it cannot undo copies people already made. Do not publish what you are not allowed to share, such as other people's designs, logos or private information.
Parts, data and other services
Designs can include manufacturers' parts, CAD models, datasheets and prices. These belong to their owners, are shown for reference and may change. Any purchase or manufacturing order is between you and the seller or factory. Open-source software in Buildable is used under its own licenses, listed in the open-source notices.
Rules of use
Follow the Community guidelines. Do not use Buildable to design weapons or devices meant to harm people, to break the law, to spy on people without consent, or to infringe others' rights. Do not attack, overload or reverse-engineer the service beyond what open-source licenses allow. We may remove published designs that break these rules.
Disclaimers and liability
Buildable is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, data or goodwill, and our total liability for any claim about Buildable is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or US$100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you. You agree to cover our reasonable losses from claims caused by your content or by your breach of these terms.
Changes, ending and law
We may update these terms; the date at the top will change, and important changes will be shown before they apply. You may stop using Buildable at any time. We may suspend access or remove published designs if these terms are broken. These terms are governed by the laws of , and disputes go to , unless the law where you live gives you other rights.
