About Buildable

Buildable is vibe-engineering for physical products. Describe what you want in plain words; Buildable designs it from real, purchasable parts, writes and runs its firmware, and lets you turn it on, try it on and see it in your room before anything is made.

What makes it real

Who it is for

People with an idea for a physical product and no engineering team: makers who want the fun of creating, students who want a working plan before they build, and founders who want a product of their own to sell.

Questions

What do I get?
A 3D design made of real, purchasable parts and parts it designs; the wiring and firmware; and a working simulation you can turn on and use. Files (CAD, parts list, wiring, firmware) download from Make.
How long does a build take?
About 60 to 90 minutes from an idea today; a change takes 5 to 15 minutes. You can close the page and come back: the build keeps going and you will see it when you return in the same browser.
How many builds can I make?
The beta is free: 1 new design and 5 changes a day per visitor. A build that fails or that you stop gives today's build back.
Does every design work?
No. Each design says plainly what works in simulation, what could not be checked yet and why. Nothing is called tested unless it was.
Can I get it made?
Ordering is a beta feature: "Make it for me" collects your request and a supplier quote, and a person follows up. Nothing is charged on the site.
Who can see my designs?
Only you, in the browser you used, until you publish one to the community. See the Privacy Policy.
